Mombasa City Tour

Pick up from an arranged location in or around Mombasa 7-8 am.

Drive through City Center towards Fort Jesus. Walk through Old Town starting from Fort Jesus passing the Mombasa Club, Africa Hotel, Mandhry Mosque, Government Square, entering Old Port and continuing towards Old Market passing on the way old colonial houses and mosques.

Way back using different route – passing by the Treasury
Square with old colonial buildings – City Council, second Post, KCB Bank, District Commissioner building. Come back to Old Town and finish off by taking a tour inside Fort Jesus.

Lunch in the old town – local cuisine with pilau or biryani on the menu, and snacks like viazi and samosas also available for you to taste.

On the way out, Drive through Mama Ngina Drive passing State House, old golf course, huge Baobab trees then stop on the Moi Avenue to make photos at the famous Mombasa Tusks – the symbol of the town.

Continue to Akamba Handicraft which is the local association of handicraft artisans that manages the production and sale of wooden carvings and other souvenirs in Mombasa. Walk in the workshop and watch how its all done, you will be amazed at what can come out from a simple piece of wood. After the tour of the workshops, you will have a chance to shop and buy some of the carvings and souvenirs that you might have liked in the workshops. They can also ship them abroad for you!

Coming back to Mombasa in the afternoon.
